Summer Lovin'

hello everyone. hope you're all enjoying your summer because I sure am. I don't want summer to ever end. I'm going to list the things I love about summer. Lists are awesome right? I haven't done a list for a quite some time, so here I go...

That list could go on and on... and on. This summer is coming to an end for me. I have less than 20 days of summer left, and I'm so sad about it. But I'm also excited to be a sophomore this year! I have mixed emotions right now. :) But summer will always be my favorite time of the year, and like I said... I don't want it to ever end!

I'm actually going to be gone from July 31st to August 6th. I'm going to spend the week at the lake with family, so that should be fun. I'll definitely do a post on that when I get back. What's not so fun is that I won't have any way to post anything on this little blog of mine. So I'll be scheduling maybe 2 or 3 posts for that week so my blog won't be too empty. ;)
well, peace out girl scout...

What are your favorite things about summer??

Music Monday

Hey guys! Today, this post is going to be all about music! I love love love music. Who doesn't? Crazy people, obviously. I have done Music Monday before, but not for a very long time. I've been listening to some new music lately and have fallen in love some new songs. If you're looking for some new tunes to put on your iPod, then you're reading the perfect post! ;)

This song is on my summer playlist. It fits perfectly.

Parachute. My new favorite band. This is one of my favorites songs at the moment!

Yes, I am a belieber. I do love this song, and Justin's voice does sound more mature. Definitely another fave.

Ok first off, this video is kinda weird but I LOVE HE IS WE. they are my favorite group! I love every single one of their songs, but this is just a more popular one of theirs. If you want to hear all of their music click HERE.

Well, those are just a few of my faves right now. Which one is your favorite? What are your favorite songs right now?

A New Look

It's friday! I'm probably out in the wilderness camping by the time you read this because these posts are scheduled. But I hope you all have a great friday!

For today's post I just quickly wanted to share something totally awesome. Like, I'm so dang excited. I saw THIS idea from a website called The Beauty Department. (You'll have to click on the link to look at it and then come back and read the rest. I don't want to copyright the pictures from the site) It's just basically tie-dying the ends of your hair as you could tell from the site.
Well, me and my friend Danielle decided we are going to do it to our hair once we get back from camping. It's going to look soo cool and I'm way excited! I'll definitely post a picture once it's done. This is an interesting, but cool trend for the summer, and I can't wait to try it. Once school starts back up, I can simply trim it off. Like I said, I'm sooo excited. I hope it turns out!
Ok, enough with the rambling! This is really quick post, but I just wanted to share this trend.

This is just another idea of what it looks like. I love love love the purple!

What do you think? Would you ever do this to your hair?

Eight is Great!

My little sister turned eight on July 7th, so we threw a birthday party together for her, and I thought I would share a few pictures from her party!

I thought her party was pretty fun for an 8 year old, if I do say so myself. The birthday party took place at an amazing frozen yogurt place in town called Menchies. Not only do they have awesome frozen yogurt, the place is decorated so cute too! While there, the kids got t-shirts to color on and decorate, and also a goodie bag with some goodies of course! After that we got to celebrate with frozen yogurt instead of cake. It was awesome! I love that place and I think everyone else did too. :)

Afterwards we decided to go on the new carousel in town since we had some time to spare. The kids loved it, including me. I'm a little girl at heart. ;) That basically wraps up the actual birthday part. But the fun didn't stop there! We made her a doughnut cake and opened presents once we got home. She was sooo excited when she opened her presents. It was very cute. :)

Jaynee's was soo happy and excited all day. She loved the attention! It was her special day, and I'm happy I got to spend it with her. She's growing up too fast though! :( I love ya Jaynee!

What's in my Makeup Bag?

Hey everyone! I'm going to be gone camping for the next 3 days so I'll have a few posts to schedule while I'm gone. But I got this idea from Abby who got the idea from i believe in unicorns, and I thought it would be kinda fun to show you guys what I use everyday.
Just so ya know, I don't use every single one of this products every day. just the majority. :)

FACE

1.  Maybelline Fit Me concealer: I use this for any under eye circles or blemishes.
2.  Maybelline Mineral Power foundation: I like this foundation because I find that mineral makeup is better for my skin.
3.  Maybelline Dream Mousse blush in Peach Satin: this blush is really nice. I love the mousse-y texture.
4.  ELF Contouring Bluch & Bronzing Powder: When I use the Dream Mousse blush I like to put a powder blush over to make it last, so that's what I use. I usually don't use the bronzer though.
5.  Kabuki Brush from Forever 21: I found this brush from the beauty section of Forever 21 and I loove it! It's soo soft. I use it to apply my foundation.
6.  ELF Proffesional Bronzing Brush: I use this brush to apply my powder brush. It's not my favorite brush ever, and I'm looking into buying new brushes but this is what I use for now!

EYES

1.  MAC Eye shadow in All That Glitters: I like neutral/bronzy colors if you haven't noticed so I like to use this if I just need some color to my eyelids!
2.  Maybelline Eye shadow quad in Lavender Smokes
3. Covergirl Eye shadow trio in Shimmering Sands: I loove these eyeshadows. I use this almost every day.
4.  Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in r.s.v.p: I just recently got this at Sephora and it's awesome! I like to use it in the summer because I prefer not to wear a lot of makeup in the summer, and so this is perfect!
5. L'Oreal Lineur Intense felt tip Eyeliner: this is the best eyeliner I've used. I like the felt tip because you have more control.
6.  L'Oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara in Carbon Black: favorite mascara ever! enough said.
7.  Great Lash BIG Mascara: I use this before I put on L'Oreal Voluminous mascara.
8. No name angles brush: random angled brush that I use occasionally. It sucks and I need a new one!
9. ELF Professional Eyeshadow Brush
10.  ELF Proffesional Blending Brush

LIPS

1. EOS Lip Blam in ???: I'm not sure what flavor this is but I loove this stuff! It smells like melons and makes my lips really soft.
2.  ELF Hypershine Gloss in Strawberry, Perfect Pink, Flirt, & Bubblegum: these glosses are awesome, but I wish they came with more product. I love shades of pink of you haven't noticed. ;)
3. Revlon Lip Gloss in Pink Whisperer: I just got this also, and I love so far!
4. NYC Lipstick in Violet Shine: this lipstick is okay. It's a violet, bright pink color. I don't love it as much as number 5 though (which I'm talking about next)
5.  Maybelline Lipstick in Born With It: This is a light pink with a lot of shimmer, but it's really pretty on! I love how smooth this lipstick is. I use it almost everyday.

That's it! Like I said, I don't use every single one of those products every day. This just gives you a little peak into what I use from day-to-day.
What do you think?

July Fourth

If you live in the USA you would know that July 4th is a very important day in our country. It's the day we gained Independence from Britain. (I'm surprised I knew that! ha!) Anyways, this day we always celebrate with parades, BBQ's, and fireworks. I did a few things differently this year, but it's basically all the same. I hope you all had a great 4th of July spent with friends and family, like I did. Here's how my day went:

This 4th of July started off by going to the river with some friends!

Hey! It's Kenzie! :)

That's me taking phone pictures of the guys skimboarding. awkward.

Kennedy skimboarding.. yeah! If you've never heard of skimboarding before, you use a small flat board and throw the board down so it glides on the water, and jump on and skim! (That made no sense, but I don't really know how to explain it. If you still don't understand, google it.) It usually only works in shallow water.

Then we found some clay on the riverbanks and started drawing stuff on each other!

All of us with nasty clay all over our bodies. And yes, we do realize how short the girls are compared to the guys. ha!

Edit to add: If you want more details about the river, Kenzie did a post HERE.

After going home and getting all that nasty clay off my body, it was time to get ready for the BBQ! I contributed by making a cake. Not just any cake, a vanilla cake with a flag using blueberries and strawberries! ;)
I saw the idea on the internet some where, and then I just recreated it myself. What do you think?

I didn't really want you to see my kitchen so I blurred it out. sorry if it looks weird!
For the BBQ we had friends come over to our house, but I didn't get any pictures of that. After dinner, we all headed out to town to find our place to watch the city fireworks. While waiting for the firework show to start we ate sno cones and listened to a country band sing and play for the whole crowd.

Again, sorry for the bluriness in the corner. It could give away my city name... internet safety, people! ;)
And now time for the FIREWORKS!
This years firework show was seriously awesome. I loved it. We actually were so close to where they were launching them, the ash from the fireworks were falling into our eyes! It was worth it though.

So that's my Fourth of July in a nutshell! God bless america :)

A Day in the Life in Pictures

July 1, 2011
{1}  Blogging in bed on my mini laptop.

{2}  Cherrios for breakfast!

{3}  Playing "Polly Pockets" with little sister

{4}  Currently reading "It's Not Summer Without You." It's the second book to the series of "The Summer I Turned Pretty." I'm using my Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume sample as my bookmark. It smells AMAZING!

{5}  This is my outfit of the day. Nothing too special. It's actually my first outfit I've ever posted here on my blog!

{6}  Later I went swimming with Taylor, Cheylie, and Danielle at Cheylie's house for her birthday!

{7}  Gorgeous orange flowers were in Cheylie's backyard.

{8}  I think out-of-focus pictures look really cool! That is the view of the pool, if you can tell.

{9}  And last, but not least... celebrating Cheylie's birthday with cupcakes and balloons! (Look at those balloons... they're the same colors as my blog!!)

Let me know if you like these posts and want me to do more!

Fifteen

Hey ya'll. So I'm going to get personal here. I've never really done that before on here, and this is going to be really rambly and so not organized, but whatever...

So some of you may or may not know my age, but I'm fifteen. I've come to conclusion that being fifteen sucks. Some of my friends agree, some of them don't. But isn't being fifteen supposed to be one of the most exciting years of being a teenager? I guess in some ways it is, but in more ways.. it's not. Atleast in my opinion.

To be honest here, sometimes its all about boys, your friends, your parents, that seem to make my life miserable.

But being fifteen makes me want to be more independent. I want to be able to choose what I do with my life. For example, my curfew, which boys to like, how much fun I have with friends, etc. Even though those things may be ridiculous things to worry about, but it's just what seems important at the time.

I've definitely realized lately, that those things I said above are not all that important. Some of the most important things are the things like spending more time with family, being there for my friends, and the ones I love. And NOT worrying about what people think of me, and just being ME. Yeah, sometimes it sucks being the only in you're group of friends with divorced parents. Sometimes it sucks not being able to have a driver's license to go where ever you want when ever you want. Sometimes it sucks to think that nobody likes you.
But guess what?

LIFE GOES ON. :)

I'm not going to give up on life. I'm not going to let those ridiculous, not-so-important things take over me. psh. I'm better than that! I'm going to stop feeling bad for myself and focus on the happy things that happen in my life. I'm going to follow my dreams and let go of the past.

Being fifteen starts my sophomore year of high school which should be interesting, but hopefully a whole new experience for me. I want to be able to discover who I am, and not what other people think of me or what other people tell me I should be. I'm still a teenager, and I'm NOT even near being perfect.

I'm just a normal fifteen year old girl who only sometimes, just slightly, wishes to be SIXTEEN.

I don't really know what I'm saying, I'm just saying what I feel. This probably makes no sense, and has no point. Don't judge me. :) But thanks for reading anyways!

P.S.- I don't own any of these pictures, and I'm not taking credit for them. I found them all on weheartit.com.

Boating!

Hey everyone! How is your summer going so far? Mine is very slow, but every once in a while I like to do some really fun things with my friends. This weekend, one of my best friends, Camber, took us out on her boat to a nearby lake. She and her parents were so nice to take us out because it was soo much fun!

These are some of my best friends. I am so glad we got to get a picture of us with all 6 of us together. From left to right there's: Kenzie, me, Taylor, Camber, Sadie, and Kennedy.

anyways...

I have been boating before, but since our family doesn't own a boat I don't go very often. This time around, I decided I wanted to try to wakeboard. and let me just say, that was a major FAIL for me! If you have ever wakeboarded before, you would know it takes a lot of practice. I guess the key to getting up was to let the boat pull you up and then to turn your board. But everytime I would let the boat pull me up, I would just fall flat on my face! Like I said... fail. Atleast I can say that I tried, right?

Next we had some lunch and then we were ready for tubing! I love tubing, but it can get pretty painful. It's totally worth it though! We had two tubes tied on to the end of the boat so we would jump from tube to tube. We played a game where if you fell off 3 times while trying to switch tubes, then you would have to go back on the boat. No one listened to those rules, but it was fun anyways. :)

Here are the rest of the pictures I took:

Kenzie and me

Taylor and me. Excuse my hot mess of hair!

This is Sadie, it was her 15th birthday that day! woot! Happy Birthday to Sadie :)

Sadie and Kennedy

The kid sticking his leg out is our friend Jake from school. He was out at the lake too with his family, but he wanted to come tube with us. Obviously. There were about 9 girls total on the boat, why wouldn't he? :)

seven people + one tube = not good

The results of tubing left me with a scabbed knee, and every muscle in my body sore. I couldn't even lift my arms above my head. It was bad, but totally worth it!

Have you ever been boating? If you have, let me know! I think it's so much fun. :)
