a busy weekend ahead of me...

remember this little guy from previous posts a couple months back?

isn't he adorable? well, today is his 2nd birthday! tomorrow we are leaving to go visit him and the rest of my family for the weekend. my aunt and uncle (and their new addition to the family that I haven't met yet!) from wyoming will be there too so it'll be good to see everyone again.

so being that i'm going to be gone, i won't have any internet access while i'm up there for the weekend. i'll be taking a lot of pictures up there, so i'll be sure to share them with you later!

fall equinox

this year in science, we are learning about earth systems. we have been learning all about the tilt and rotation of the earth, the stars and solar systems, and all about how the earth changes seasons.  well, speaking of changing seasons... today, september 21, is the fall equinox. {at this part of the world, at least.}

fall is one of my favorite seasons! {along with spring, of course} it's the time of year where i finally get to wear scarves and boots, and bundle up in a fuzzy jacket. it's the time where the leaves are changing to red, yellow, brown, and orange. it's also the time of the year where i get to eat all my favorite foods like pumpkin pie. yumm! i also love to take pictures during the fall time because the leaves are just so pretty at this time of year! so vibrant and colorful. :)

being that i live in a desert, fall comes really late for us. the leaves are just barely starting to change, and the temperature is still in the high 80's. *sigh* but it was really windy today, which means that fall is definitely on it's way!

miscellaneous things

good evening everyone. :) so sorry i haven't been posting as much as i want to. this place called "school" has kept me from blogging lately. i've had so much homework this week being that it was mid-term, and grades were due. anyways, i feel like nothing exciting is happening in my life right now. stress has taken over me! no fun.

the beautiful southern utah sunsets. southern utah always has amazing sunsets in the fall. they make me happy :)

football games. i've grown to love to watch football games! recently, my spanish teacher who is the head coach of our freshman football team, asked my friend, kennedy, and i to film/record the football games. so our job is to go up in the booth at the top of the bleachers to film the games for him so the team can watch it afterwards. thursday was our first day of the "job", and it went pretty well! it made us actually pay attention to what was going on. ;o) we won by the way!

jaynee lost her two-front teeth! she has a toothless grin now! those little suckers have been hanging by a thread for a while now, so she was excited when she finally had the courage to pull them out.

the toothfairy (aka: my dad) gave her a dollar. the tooth fairy also needs to work on his spelling! it's smiling not smileing... dad!

this next one is pretty random, and really has nothing to do with my life but...

have you seen or heard of silly bandz? they're ridiculously popular for kids right now! they're rubber bands that come in a ton of different shapes and colors. i even have some ;) they're the "in" thing right now.

craziness

today, our school got out earlier than usual. you don't even know how happy i was about that! well, after school, me and my besties decided we should hang out since school was out early. kenzie offered for all of us to go chill at her house for the afternoon, so that's what we did! being that she only lives about 2 blocks away from our school we all walked over to her house. we all chipped in to order pizza from one of our fave pizza places, and enjoyed hanging out with eachother. after eating, we played just dance on the wii (such a fun game, btw), and talked about random stuff. dinner time came, and everyone had to leave.
now, the party begins... ;) kidding. but really.

me and kenzie, being our hyper crazy selves decided to draw faces on the bottom of our toes. don't hate. wanna see?

we also took some other silly pictures together. observe...

then we made a very interesting peanut butter cookie recipe. they turned out... umm... good, i guess! they were a little undercooked, but that's ok because cookies are cookies, right?!

Q&A

hey everyone! how's your friday going? today has been a pretty good day for me! later tonight im going to my high school's football game and then having a late night with some friends. i can't wait. :)

so last week i asked you guys to go to my formspring and ask me anything you wanted to get to know me a little better. well, i didn't get a whole lot of questions but enough to make a post about! thanks to those of you who asked questions!

so here is a little more about me and my blog...

Q: Do you edit the pictures that you take or are they natural?

A: It depends on what camera I use. If I use my family's DSLR camera, then I usually just brighten the picture and touch up a few things. But if I use my low quality (not so good) digital camera then I usually have to do a lot of editing. When I do edit my pictures though, I try my best to make them look natural.

Q: Who designed your blog?

A: I designed it myself.

Q: Do you like to scrapbook?

A: I used to, but I'm not interested in it as much anymore. Digital scrapbooking is more of my thing. ;o)

Q: What kind of camera do you have?

A: My DSLR is Canon Rebel XTI and my point-and-shoot digital camera is a Kodak MX1063.

Q: Can we see your room?

A: Possibly. To be honest, it is very small and not too exciting! I'll think about it though... :)

Q: Do you take all of the pictures on your blog?

A: Most of the time, yes. Sometimes I will get a few pictures from image hosting sites, but it depends on the post.

Q: Do you like to do crafts?

A: Yeah! Unfortunately, I only finish my crafts 50% of the time!

Happiness Is...

labor day hike

 you may have noticed my new blog design! i used {this} awesome kit from summertime designs. i was getting bored of my old design, so i decided to change things up a bit. i hope you like it! i made a new button too, so be sure to grab that.

anyways, i also decided this post would have no capital letters. just for fun. random, i know. :o)

so as you know, it was labor day on monday. {well, if you live in the u.s.} i had a pretty good time this weekend spending time with my family and friends. on friday, i went to my high school's tail-gate party for our homecoming football game. after the party, the game started. our team won! we actually played the high school that my mom went to when she was in high school. what a coincidence!

saturday was very laid back for my family. we went swimming in the afternoon and spent the rest of the afternoon chilling at home.

yesterday, {labor day} our family and extended family decided that we would go on hike together. we met at a small town about 30 mins away from where i live. we went up a small dirt road and that's where we started our hike. the hike was pretty easy for the first part. but the rest of the way we were pretty much hiking in a river. not a trail. the water was about 40 degrees, so my toes were completely numb! here are few pictures of what the hike looked like: {just an fyi: i did very minimal editing to these photos}

and of course, the one picture that i get of myself... is out of focus. oh well. it still looks cool in a way.

then there was a part of the hike where we had to climb up a log ladder next to this waterfall. it was very creepy, but fun at the same time.

after hiking through some more water and canyons, we finally made it to the top where the waterfall slide was. it was very cool! while we were up there, we took a break and had some lunch.

and this is my brother, kason, who you don't get to see much of because he refuses to get his picture taken. i think this is a good picture of him though. :o)

i didn't go to down the slide because it was way too cold, but my cousins and my brother did. here a few action shots:







then, we had to take the long treacherous hike back down the canyon! it was crazy, but totally fun. as you can tell from some of the pictures it was beautiful up there. if you ever get the chance to visit utah i recommend that you go hiking somewhere. it is very pretty around here. :)

Happy Friday & Questions to Ask

You do not even know how happy I am that it is Friday. Let's just say that I've not had the best week ever, so this 3 day weekend is MUCH needed!

Since it's labor day weekend, I am hoping to get to do some fun things with my family and friends. I'm not quite sure what we are doing yet, but hopefully it will be good.

Tonight I have a few things planned. With my friends, I'm going to go to our high schools Homecoming football game! I'm so excited. :) Before that though, there is a tail-gate party that we're going to also. It will have food, games, and other fun activities. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the heat! Afterwards, I might have a sleepover with one of my besties, Kenzie. We always find weird ways to entertain ourselves, so it should be fun!

Happiness Is...

If read my previous post, you would know that I wasn't too happy that day. Fortunately, today was a lot better!
