My NOT Very Good Day!

I hate complaining about my life on my blog, but my blog is about ME and my LIFE, right? Well, just take note of that ok? I just need somewhere to vent my feelings about stuff.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you haven't noticed already, today has not been a good day. It started off as my normal routine: alarm goes off, get dressed, etc. Well, today was school picture day. NOT my favorite day of the year, that's for sure. So today I spent a little extra time in front of the mirror to make sure I look just right for school pictures. But what do you know? I loose track of time, and won't make it to the bus. So I persuaded my dad to take me to school. But before I left, I wanted to eat breakfast real fast, so I put a piece of bread in the toaster. I ran back to my bedroom to grab some stuff, and I come back to find my toast burnt. Like, completely BLACK. So I ate no breakfast this morning.
Not my picture, but that's pretty much what my toast looked like!
I get to school on time, luckily, and go to my first period class which is Computer Tech. Well, the teacher that teaches it is SO slow and she repeats the same stuff over and over again. Being that I already know half of the stuff she is teaching, it gets me really frustrated. And I hate being that way!

After about 45 minutes into class they call down all 9th grade girls with last names that start with G-K to go get their picture taken for school pictures. So I did. I went to the library and waited in line for about 10 minutes just to get my stupid picture taken. I finally get there, sit down and the lady keeps telling me "Turn your head to the right, and now face your body towards me, smile big," and blah blah blah. She takes the picture, and I walk over to the place where they print out our ID card for the year with our picture on it, and I look really weird but it's OK I guess. Ugh, I hate school pictures.

Later in the day, I had to take a math test. I was actually feeling pretty confident about it, but once I saw the test my confidence went down. There were problems that I had forgotten how to do the steps, etc. I just really hope I get a semi-decent score!

I came home from school, ate a snack, and went straight to bed. I took the best nap ever. I love naps. :) That was probably the only good that happened to me today. haha

ANYWAYS... That is all. Thanks if you took the time read this. :) I'm not expecting any comments, only if you want to!

Have a great first day of September tomorrow!
(Wow, it's September already?!)

Lately...

Lately I've been uber busy. {Uber is my new favorite word, haha} Which makes no time for blogging! So here are few things that have been going on in my life, and a few things that have made me happy. :)

1. School, of course
School has been pretty good lately. Even though I have had homework almost every day. :( But I love seeing my friends everyday. :)

2. Spirit Week
This past week at school, it was spirit week. Each day had a theme and we had to dress up for that theme. The themes were: Mis-matched day {you where unmatching clothes}, Flashback {dress from the 80's, 70's, 60's, etc}, Superhero day {dress like a superhero}, Sport's day {wear your favorite team shirt, etc}, & White Out day {dress in all white}. So that's always fun to see everyone dressed up in different things. I dressed up every day except mis-matched day. I didn't get any pics of my other outfits either. Oops. But then on Friday, there was a school dance! We were all dressed in white, so we had some cool black lights/strobe lights. It was pretty fun!

3. Football Games
On Thursday was our freshman's team very first football game of the season. And they won! YA! The guys played great, and I had a good time hanging out with friends on the bleachers. GO Thunder!

Me with a weird, shredded plastic cup "crown." Yeah, don't ask.
Taylor looks cute in every photo.
Kennedy with her awesome red glasses.

Me with my weird crown, again.
Kenzie with awesome glasses, also.

4. Taylor Swift's new music video
I love Taylor Swift and her music. Her new single "Mine" has became one of my favorite songs. Well, the music video for the song just premiered the other day! I love it! Here is the link: http://www.cmt.com/videos/taylor-swift/556177/mine.jhtml

And lastly, the most wonderful day of my life, happened on Saturday, August 28, 2010:

4. BIG TIME RUSH CONCERT!!!!
Yes, call me obsessed but it was so amazing. I absolutely LOVED it! I wish I could go back and re-live that night. I have an awesome story to tell about it, but it's way too long for this post. (I'll do a seperate post later) :D

Well, that was my awesome week. Sorry for the lack of posting!
What did you do this week?

It's Friday!

My favorite day of the week! This week has gone by pretty fast for me for some reason. Which is weird because you would think school would always make things longer and more dreadful. Not this week, I guess. Don't get me wrong, I still have to do homework and it can be very stressful at times but it's only the first technical week of school. {Ok, I'm getting off topic here}

Anywhoooo, today has been a good day so far. Luckily, I got to school on time this morning because on Wednesday... I didn't. Oops. {Let's not go into detail of that day. Worst day of the week right there. Ugh!} I also turned in my first Geography project in on time today, which is always good.
In my Foods and Nutrition class, we made some fresh salsa! It was really yummy! Then after school, I went with Kenzie over to the high school to see if she made it in the play... I will let her tell you guys that news. :)

My mom then picked me up from the high school and took me to the hair salon to get my hair cut! My hair was deeply in need of a hair cut. My split ends were horrible and my bangs grew out terribly long, so it was much needed. Wanna see the new do? Here's a pic:

Sorry for the bad quality. The picture was taken from my phone.
I cut off 2 inches and got a few layers to thin it out a bit. It feels SO much better! What do you think?

So later tonight I'm going over to my friend, Danielle's, house to watch one of our favorite shows. Big Time Rush. haha! The MOVIE comes out tonight, so I insisted on see it!! I can't wait!

So that's my fantastic Friday!
Hope you all have a wonderful day :)

Recipe: Doughnut Cookies

Is it a doughnut? Or is it a cookie? It's BOTH.

Sunday evening I was craving a doughnut, but I was also was craving cookies. So guess what I did? I made both!

These are the perfect little treats for birthdays, showers, parties, or just for your pleasure. Do you want to know how to make them? They're pretty simple.

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons shortening
2/3 cup sugar
1 egg
2/3 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups flour
5 teaspoons baking powder

Directions:
-Preheat oven to 365 degrees.
-Cream the shortening and sugar together. Beat the egg and add to the mixture. Stir in the milk. Sift together the nutmeg, salt, flour, and baking powder. Combine mixtures
-Knead to a floured surface. Roll to a thinkness of about 1/4" and cut out with a doughnut cutter.
-Place the dough onto a baking sheet and bake for about 12-14 minutes.

Enjoy!

Quail Lake With Friends

Note: I've been meaning to post about this for quite some time, but I'm just barely getting around to it. Sorry about that.
-----------------------------------------------------------
My friends and I have been talking about going boating at the lake for quite some time. Well, a couple of weeks ago, my good friend Camber, finally invited us to go! I was so excited!

That weekend, my friend, Kennedy, had to stay at my house for the weekend because her parents were gone on a cruise for the week. Anyways, on Friday night we were so excited that we were counting down the hours until we had to get up in the morning. Haha! We finally went to bed after long conversations about random things at one in the morning. {Shame on us!} Next thing we knew, the alarm clock was going off at 6:45 AM.

We eventually got up, got dressed in our swimming suits, grabbed our life jackets, and headed out the door. We arrived to Camber's house around 7:30. That's when I saw Kenzie there too! We greeted each other with hugs, and got ready to leave.

After about 25 minutes, we finally arrived to the lake. This is when I started to get really excited. I haven't been boating for a couple years, so I know I was up for something awesome. We docked the boat, and before I knew it, we were out on the lake! The lake that we went to was called Quail Lake.

Unfortunately,  the skies started to look grey and gloomy. The waves were also really, really choppy which is not too good for wake boarding and tubing.

First we started off with wake boarding. Camber went first and then followed by Kennedy. After a while, it started to rain. :( So we had to dock the boat for a little bit until it stopped. We didn't wait too long until the sky had finally cleared up.

Kennedy wake boarding
Once the skies were cleared up, we docked our boat onto the water once again. Now, we decided we would just go tubing for the rest of the time. So we buckled our life jackets and jumped onto the tube. Once he started that boat, lemme tell ya... it was INTENSE!!

Left to right: Camber, Kenzie, Kennedy
I was holding on for dear life! Me and Kenzie were screaming the most because Kennedy and Camber considered themselves "pros". Psh. Anyways, after a while Camber and Kennedy eventually fell off after me and Kenzie. It was SO fun though! Although, the water was very choppy and not very smooth at all, we still had a blast!

Left to right: Kenzie, Kennedy Camber

When the rest of Camber's family came, we had to get off the boat because there wasn't enough room for everyone on one boat. We took the cooler with the food and laid our towels out on the dock. That's where we had a delicious lunch. :)

Kennedy and I

Me, Kennedy, Kenzie, and Camber
We put or feet in the water, and also found a random duck swimming near us. Haha!

Anyways, we came home that afternoon with blisters on our hands, aching bodies, and we were all very tired. But it was all worth it, and I would do it again any day! Good times, good memories.

Have you ever been boating or tubing?? If not, I totally recommend it!

Tag: Four Things...

Hey everyone! Yesterday, I was tagged by Kenzie to do this fun little tag! Tags seem to be the "in" thing with blogging lately. Anyways, the theme for the questions asked is four things. So here I go...

What are four things in my bag for school?
My binder, pencils, notebook, and lipgloss.

What are four things in my purse?
Ugly purse, I know.
Well, I don't really carry around a purse, but I would have to say my cell phone, lip gloss {I always have to have my lipgloss ;)}, wallet, and camera.

What are four favorite things in my room?

My giant letter "K" above my bed, my magnet board with lots of memories, my iHome, and last but not least... my Taylor Lautner poster. Don't hate. ;)

What are four things I'm currently digging?

{via: weheartit.com}
The color purple,

My new school clothes,

Big Time Rush,

and blogging of course!

What are four things I bet you didn't know about me?

1. Well you may have already known this from previous posts, but about 3 years ago I used to ride horses and take horseback riding lessons. But then I quit because I wasn't interested any more. :/

2. I've lived in the same town, and in the same house all my life!

3. I am the oldest of three kids all together.

4. I don't really like to read. I wish I did, but I just dont. haha

So that is all! Now I have to tag 4 people... but I don't follow the rules, so I'm tagging everyone and anyone who wants to do it!! ;)

Happy Friday!

Summer 2010 Comes to an End

Wow, it seems like just last week the last school bell rang and loud, obnoxious kids piled out the school. But nope, that was 2 months ago!

Well, my point here is that school started again TODAY! This year, is "technically" my first year of high school. I say "technically" because I'm in high school but go to a middle school. (It's different around here than most schools, long story...)

Anyways, I was super nervous this morning! I'm usually not too nervous on the first day of school, but since this year our grades count as credits towards college, it gets a little more difficult. Which is why I was so nervous. The good thing though, is that I realized I have a few of my friends in my classes! It makes me feel so much better when I have people I know in my classes. Don't you think? I even have a class with Kenzie... YAY!

The past few days, I have been doing some last minute school shopping. I haven't bought a whole lot, but enough until fall. I found a few cute things, and some really great deals. One of my favorite deals that I found was 2 pairs of brand name jeans for $35 at Ross. Pretty good deal, eh?

This is what I wore for the first day of school:

Nothing too exciting, but I think it's appropriate for the first day. :)

Some of the classes I'm taking are Geography, Foods and Nutrition, Computer Tech, Science, Algebra, Language Arts, Spanish 2, etc. Most of my teachers are pretty decent and easy-going. My favorite teachers are my Geography and Spanish teachers! The only one I'm not too excited about is my Algebra teacher. The others... well, they're pretty good too.

Thought that this picture was pretty hilarious and quite embarrassing!
Overall, my day was pretty good! I got to see all of my friends and my classes ended up being not too bad. But then again... school is school.

So there is a little update on my life right now. I'll have to get used to the new routine, but I think it will be a good year!
{And hopefully I'll be able to blog just as much as I have been.}

Have you started school? If not, when do you start? And if your not in school, what do you remember most about high school? I'd love to know!

Wee Bit of Me Wednesday

It's Wednesday again! Time for a new series of Wee Bit of Me Wednesday. :)

Here are today's questions:

{one} how would you describe your style?
Depends on what I feel like. :) I like to wear cute jeans and a fun/girly shirt, but other times it ends up being more casual than that like jeans, t-shirt, and flip-flops.

{two} what would your perfect day look like?
I would wake up at a pretty decent time and get ready for the day. I would call some of my friends up and we would find a magical airplane that would take us to California to spend our day the beach and then go shopping. :) Doubt that will ever happen, but I can dream right?!

{three} what would be the best workplace perk?
I haven't really had a paying job yet, so I don't really know. I would probably have to say a clean, organized working area though.

{four} if you could have the starring role in one movie, which would it be?
Don't hate me for this... but I would love to be in Twilight. Only because Bella gets to be around Jacob a lot, and I would really enjoy that. ;) And plus, the money would never hurt right?

{five} what tv show do you wish would go off the air for good?
The stupid cartoons on Nickelodeon that nobody watches.

{six} chocolate or vanilla?
Well, if we're talking about ice cream then it would be vanilla.

{seven} if you could date any celebrity, who would it be?
Either Taylor Lautner, Zac Efron, or Logan Henderson {from Big Time Rush}.

{eight} if you could have been the author of any book, which would it have been?
Twilight...again. haha Only because it's SO popular and Stephanie Meyers is probably a millionaire.

{nine} what's your favorite type of flower?
Sego Lilys and Daffodils are my favorites.

{ten} what do you think is your most attractive feature?
Umm... I don't know? Probably my hair, I guess. haha

Go check out My Leigh Ashley for other answers!

Youth Conference

On the 30th & 31st of July, I spent my weekend at Youth Conference. It's a church-related activity where the youth {ages 12-18} of our ward went up to learn more about our church and build our testimonies. It was a great experience and actually had a lot of fun!

I took a lot of pictures, so here are a few to explain what we did:

I rode in the car with these two awesome girls. :)
We arrived to the Pine Valley Mountains and dropped off our luggage at the girl's cabin we were staying at.

Me, Ashlyn, and Danielle.
We went to the other cabin nearby where we would be doing all of our activities this weekend.

An OREO cow!!  :D These cows were so cool!
On our way to the other cabin, we stopped to check out these awesome Oreo cows!

Me on the tree swing at the cabin. I love tree swings.
Once we got there, we had dinner and a presentation about pioneers by an elder lady in our ward.

The awesome tree house.
The cabin had a huge grassy area with apple trees all over. There was a lovely tree house, tree swing, a volleyball net, a trampoline, a swing set, and many more exciting things to keep us busy. Oh! and they even had an "All-you-can-eat" ice cream maker! :D {I'm not even going to mention how many gallons we all ate by the time Youth Conference was over! It was a lot though :)}

The yard of the cabin was surrounded by these beautiful, yellow flowers.
I spent most of my free time on this very comfortable hammock. :)

The following day we woke up bright and early to start off our day with a delicious breakfast and a hike to the mountains.

Ashlyn on the hike
That would be me with my bright yellow bandanna on my head. {Except you can't see that it is yellow in this picture because it is edited in black and white :)}
We all received these awesome green, yellow, and black t-shirts.

Me and then Ashlyn with our wooden swords that we made.
After the hike, we came back and painted and decorated swords to represent our theme for this year, "Be Strong."
Once the craft was finished, we helped the cabin owners move some logs onto some pallets as a service project. With every one's help it took about 15 minutes! We then had a yummy lunch provided by the cabin owners once again.

The next and final thing we did was tour the oldest working church of our church in the world. {I hope that makes sense, haha} It was very cool to see how the oldest things still worked. I also felt really lucky to live so close to this church.

This is our whole group in front of the church.
After we were done at the church, we went back to the cabin and had a chicken dinner. YUM! We packed our things, said our goodbyes, and got ready to leave.
But before we left, my friends and I took so awesome jumping pictures on the trampoline just for fun. The only bad thing is was that the pictures were taken on Ashlyn's camera, not mine. So I can't share them with you. :( But you get the point, right?

Anyways, we packed our things in the cars and drove home late that night. We all had a great time, and I can't wait 'til next year!!

Thanks for reading. :)

A Day at the River

A week ago, I went to the river again with a few of my friends! I finally decided to bring my camera this time so I could take a few pictures of us. We had a lot of fun!

So here are a few pictures of everyone:

Not the best picture of us, but it works.

Me and Taylor
{And no, my butt isn't that big... my skirt is just puffed up all weird!}

Taylor "baptizing" Kennedy. :P
This part of the river was about 4 feet deep compared to the 8 inches we were floating on!

Cameron {Carter in the background}

Taylor

Kennedy
{Kennedy, and I had the biggest and best tubes there... just sayin'.}

And that, would be me. :)

These aren't the best pictures I've ever taken but I think they turned out ok. Other than that... it was a lot of fun, and the perfect way to stay cool in the summer!
